Audain Art Museum

This 5,575-square-metre private art museum is built among the trees at the popular ski-resort of Whistler-Blackcomb. This “fast track” 815-tonne all steel structure is elevated one storey above the ground on 6 rows of steel “bents” and the concrete cores. Somerset and KWH Constructors, along with the steel fabricator, was brought in early on as a design/assist contractor with a GMP contract. All the steelwork was shop drawn in house by Somerset and they provided all the connections design.
