Sterling Creek Bridge

Location: Hedley, BC Contract Value:

Due to environmental restrictions this single 67-metre span, three-plate, skewed girder bridge was launched over this salmon spawning stream. A six-legged bent was positioned adjacent to the stream carrying 135-tonne capacity rockers each with two 70-tonne rollers.  A 20-metre-long temporary nose was used with the pulling beam attached to it. The bridge was pulled across the gap by a winch at bearing level since the abutment back-walls were not yet poured.
