Somerset provided tripping and temporary support engineering for the rebar cages for the main tower caissons for the foundation contractor, Kiewit-FCI-Manson Joint Venture. Somerset performed construction engineering for the superstructure contractor American Bridge/Fluor JV, including detail drawings and site inspection for all components of the temporary catwalks for the 624-metre span cable construction. This included accurate catenary geometry for all stages of loading the catwalk, calculated to achieve the target main cable geometry. This was the largest public infrastructure project in California history.
