Somerset was retained by the General Contracting Team to review the erection methods, construction scheme and equipment designs for this 728-metre main span suspension bridge in Vallejo, CA. The Alfred Zampa Bridge, also known as the Carquinez Bridge, is the first new suspension bridge built in the United States in 35 years. The bridge has 120-metre tall concrete main towers and an 26-metre wide steel orthotropic deck made up of panels up to 50 metres long.
